CBD is quickly becoming a popular alternative to modern medicine based on its many benefits, forms (edibles, vapes, pills etc.), and availability (e.g. from Area 52 or other online stores). It can treat a range of different symptoms of certain conditions such as anxiety, depression, epilepsy, cancer treatment, nausea, pain and much more. With so many studies showing the positive effects of taking CBD with very little side effects compared to modern medicine, it’s clear to see why so many are taking the natural route to medicine. Here, we take a look at the comparison between CBD and modern medicine and why CBD is growing in popularity.

Less Side Effects

Modern medicine, although effective, can also come with a host of side effects as it treats more than the original issue due to the foreign synthetic chemicals. Natural medicine, however, contains ingredients found in nature that are already naturally occurring in our bodies and is thought to utilize the bodies healing abilities rather than work against it. For example, CBD works with the endocannabinoid system in your body to encourage the system to produce its own cannabinoids which in turn helps manage pain and reduce inflammation. This process reduces the chance of negative side effects.

It’s an All-Natural Medicine

CBD is a popular product to use as an alternative to modern medicine due to its all-natural appeal. CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant that contains no psychoactive properties (like the properties found in THC that can alter your perception) and so is considered safe to use for everyone. The CBD responds to the endocannabinoid system in your body that affect pain and therefore, the all-natural CBD supplement is seen to be a better option for many opposed to modern medicines.

Affordability and Availability

In countries that don’t have access to modern medical treatment due to lack of insurance or being underdeveloped, CBD is a great cost-effective alternative to modern medicine due to its pain relieving, anti-inflammatory and stress relieving effects. CBD is greatly available to those who may not be able to afford traditional medicine, or those that may not have access to healthcare. Studies have shown the many benefits of CBD and researchers believe this is a great supplement to incorporate into your lifestyle.

Versatility

Not only is CBD versatile in the way you can ingest it, it’s also versatile in what it can treat. Most modern medicines are taken orally which can cause gastro issues, and for some, swallowing pills can be a huge turn off. CBD comes in a range of forms such as edibles (e.g. gummies, chocolate, brownies, tea’s etc.), vapes, oils and tinctures, pills and topicals (e.g. creams and lotions). This gives the taker a choice based on their preference of ingesting the CBD, as well as how quickly the CBD starts to work.

Takeaway

Although modern medicine is extremely advanced, sometimes the all-natural route is more appealing due to the lack of side effects, availability and versatility.
