While Ozempic has become so viral that it’s been difficult for those who really need it to obtain it, it sounds like it may not be the perfect weight loss solution it appears to be after all.

More precisely, a TikTok star by the name of Remi Bader, 27, has opened up about using this diabetes medication with the goal of dropping the pounds  and avoiding diabetes only to apparently gain “double the weight back!”

The influencer was a guest on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast and she revealed that she got prescribed Ozempic prior to it becoming trendy as a miraculous weight loss solution.

Remi told the host that “I’m almost annoyed that it is this trendy thing now, when I went on it for actual issues.”

The plus-size model went on to reveal that a doctor recommended the medication not too long after it was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration back in 2020 in order to address her weight, insulin resistance and pre-diabetic issues.

As for how she feels about Ozempic, Remi made it very clear that she has mixed feelings because of the fact that her binge eating got worse right after she stopped getting the weekly injection.

She shared that “I saw a doctor and they were like, ‘It is 100 percent because you went on Ozempic,’ because it was making me think I was not hungry. I lost some weight. I did not want to be obsessed with being on it long term, and I was like, ‘I bet the second that I go off, I am going to get starving again,’ and I did. My binging got much worse, so then I kind of blamed Ozempic. I gained double the weight back after.”

In the meantime, Ozempic has become so popular as a diet medication that it’s sparked serious shortages all over the world, which is really unfortunate for people who really need it for health reasons and may no longer be able to get it.
