If you are a health enthusiast, you already know that ginger is not only beneficial in hot tea or meal’s savouriness. There is more to it than that. According to recent research, if you have an upset stomach that makes you nauseous or even vomit, using ginger might help you handle the pain better.

“It’s most commonly known for helping ease digestive issues like nausea,” said a nutritionist based in Los Angeles, Kelly LeVeque, who is also the author of the book “Body Love.”

However, she added that the health benefits of ginger had been analyzed by researchers, studies showing that it can act as inflammatory and an antioxidant of our bodies.

Also, ginger is a useful ingredient in weight loss diets, so you should not ditch it only because it might not be tasty for you.

In 2015 a study was published in the journal Pain Medicine that talked about the consumer of ginger powder. According to the test, if you are a woman suffering from menstrual pain, it can be relieved by this condiment making you feel less miserable during your period.

Another such study that was published in 2010 in The Journal of Pain claimed that consuming heated or raw ginger can help reduce soreness after a workout 25% more than a placebo.

According to a physician and nutritionist at the Center for Internal and Integrative Medicine in Alpharetta, Georgia, Dr. Eddie Fatakhov, ginger has a lot of health benefits. You can use it when you have a sore throat or when you are feeling nauseous. Ginger can even help you with diarrhea if spending your day on the toilet does not sound like the perfect task on a to-do list.

Ginger has the same effect chili peppers do and other condiments from the Capsicum family as they ease the pain.
