Our diet greatly influences our life and this is why we should pay attention to what we eat. Our aspect can also change if we eat the right food. If you want to preserve your good skin and even give it a boost, and look younger, you need to focus on nutrition and adopt some specific anti-aging dietary habits.

Can’t reverse your age

Unfortunately, the aging process is something that can’t be reversed. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t make your skin look better with the right food, and look younger. For instance, it is known that collagen loss is one of the main reasons why skin ages. Collagen production can be increased with vitamin C. This is why you should try to add more fruits and vegetables to your daily dietary habits. We recommend berries, citrus fruits, herbs, and even potatoes with their skin on as the best anti-aging foods.

Fight dry skin

If your skin isn’t hydrated enough, drinking water isn’t that only thing that helps. You can try drinking green tea as it is known that its catechins can improve skin hydration. Dehydration should also be avoided since it can lead to a pale looking skin which looks less plump. Worse than that, chronic dehydration reduces the elasticity of your skin.

Collagen supplements vs. Proteins

You might prefer to purchase collagen supplements from the shops. However, we have to tell you that their efficiency wasn’t exactly proved. It is hard to believe that the collagen will get into the bloodstream in such a high quantity that it will have an impact on your skin.

You might want instead to add more protein-rich foods to your dietary habits. Even if you need less protein as you age, this doesn’t mean that it should miss from your diet. For instance, a 70-year-old woman should have 0.36 g of protein per kg of body weight. Eggs are a great protein source, so add them to your anti-aging dietary habits if you want to look younger.
